Monica Lockie has already been a guest on WeEvolve TV™sharing the experience of loosing her son to a drug overdose in 2013. In this interview we attempt to shed light on basic questions pertaining to this big and complex issue:
Why do some youth use drugs?
Why some youth use and some don’t?
What is connection between drugs and mental health?
How do we reach youth who are experimenting or struggling with drugs?
What help is needed and what help is already in place to support youth at risk?

Both Monica and Tim explain what Harm Reduction is and how it can be one way of helping our youth.
Tim Greenwood has been a youth employment counselor with the JVS Youth Reach program in both Toronto and York Region for the past 15 years. In his work he has come to realize that drugs and alcohol are for many youth an obstacle or challenge they need to navigate to move ahead with their lives. Tim is a husband and father of four children between the ages of 10 and 14, a storyteller, writer and community activist.
